45 Minutes at St Govan's Chapel
This was an image I'd been planning for a very long time but had been putting off for two reasons. Firstly I didn't think it would actually work, and secondly, theres something spooky about St Govan's chapel in the day so at night surely it would be so much worse! I finally built up the courage to go down there with just a wind-up torch and a little moonlight to help find my way. It took nearly an hour to setup the composition, work out the correct aperture and do tests to find out how many flashes would be needed to even out the lighting. Finally, all that was left to do was start the exposure, fire the correct number of flashes, then sit in total darkness while the rest of the image was exposed. I hope you agree it was definately worth the effort!
